Alex Medlin

As a student at the College of Charleston, Alex was introduced to the hard drugs of Lindy Hop and Blues on the streets of Charleston, SC. Though a recent addition to the Raleigh, NC scene, Alex began DJing blues locally in Charleston for two years as part of the the Holy City Blues dance club. She loves to dance, listen to music, and create playlists with a variety of authentic Blues styles that will get the room dancing. You may have caught one of her sets at GVLX, Summertime, Tobacco Road Blues, EBC, Holy City Blues, Statesboro Swings Out, Winter Blues, ORLX, Bring on the Blues, and soon she will be seen at some upcoming events in the South East. She is excited to be DJing and dancing with everyone at HCBX this year.

Adam Bean

Adam was introduced to the blues back in 2011 and since then has DJed around the nation at Winter Blues, Red Hot Blues & BBQ, Holy City Blues, and many more. He's known for his musical variety which spans multiple generations while remaining true to the roots of the dance. When behind the booth his mind is always on the dancers and giving them a set that will keep them inspired all night

Marina Clements

Marina was initially exposed to the blues bug when she walked into her first exchange, the Holy City Blues Exchange. Over the past two years her passion for blues has blossomed. She began exploring blues music and attending blues events and workshops across the Southeast. When she isn’t teaching or DJing for Holy City Blues or attending live music events, she stays busy with graduate school. She is studying to become a Physical Therapist in hopes that she can use her knowledge to rehabilitate her injured dancing friends. Marina enjoys dancing on the bridge between classic blues and contemporary R&B, striving to provide a smooth, modern vibe that’s sure to connect and engage your soul. Marina can’t wait to get your gluteus maximus moving on the dance floor at this year’s Holy City Blues Exchange!

Callie Gieck

Based in Greenville, SC, Callie has been dancing Lindy Hop and Blues since February 2015. Able to read the energy of the room, Callie plays the music that will keep you dancing all night!

"There's no greater thrill than watching dancers scurry across the floor because they just haaaaave to find someone to dance with. Hey, watch where you're putting that microphone!"

Benjy Thomas

Benjy fell in love with blues played live in juke joints long before he discovered that blues dancing was a thing. He eventually found blues dance, and has been enjoying it ever since. Benjy has been known to spin blues around the Southeast at Backwater Blues, ATLX, GVLX, Sweet Georgia Blues, Bittersweet Blues, and Swinganooga, as well as at Atlanta's monthly blues dances: Last Call Blues and Terminus. He loves a wide range of blues sub-genres and enjoys giving dancers plenty to play with by guiding his sets through a mixture of blues styles, periods, and instrumentation. Benjy is involved in the formative stages of Blues Dance ATL and helping organize Brickyard Blues
