Terms of Service (TOS) for

Holy City Blues Exchange

November 2nd-5th, 2017

I. Waiver of Responsibility

I understand and recognize the risks of physical injury inherent in dance and dance performances, and I am willing to assume those risks fully.  I release and hold harmless Holy City Blues Exchange (HCBX), its directors, agents, successors, and assigns from any and all claims, causes of action, suits or liability, costs and expenses (including, without limitation, reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of, or in connection with, any loss, personal injury, death, or other damage that I may incur or suffer by reason or as a result of my participation in any and all of the dances and workshops occuring November 10th-13th, 2016. I agree to respect all property owned, used, or rented by Holy City Blues Exchange and assume responsibility for damages thereof I may incur.

II. Photography/Videography

I understand that Holy City Blues Exchange (HCBX) may record my participation in this event on video or by photograph. I grant HCBX unlimited use of any such recordings with no obligation to me and that such recordings are the sole property of HCBX.

III. Transfer of Passes

A. Transfers
1. Attendees are allowed to negotiate transfers of passes among themselves provided the seller notify HCBX at holycityblues@gmail.com with the buyer's name and contact information.

2. Transfers will not be allowed beyond October 15, 2016.

B. Deferrals. Attendees are allowed to defer passes 1 year to the following year's event. HCBX reserves the right to ask for forms of identification at check-in in order to prevent fraud.

IV. HCBX Code of Conduct/Safe Spaces/Sexual Harassment Policy

HCBX is dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable event experience for everyone, therefore all attendees, staff, and volunteers at HCBX are required to comply with the following code of conduct. Organizers will enforce this code throughout the event. We are expecting cooperation from all participants to help ensure a safe environment for everybody.

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, feel unsafe, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of event staff immediately:

*Notify Lauren Svensen or Dave Fuerte

HCBX is dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable event experience for everyone, regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, ability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion (or lack thereof). We do not tolerate harassment of event participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery in social situations is not appropriate for any event venue, including Twitter, Facebook, and other online media. Event participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the event without a refund at the discretion of the organizers.

1. No forms of harassment will be tolerated. Harassment includes offensive verbal comments (related to gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, OR religion), sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of dances or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.

2. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.   If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the event organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the event with no refund.

3. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of event staff immediately, using one of the methods above.

4. Event staff will be happy to help participants contact the Safety Staffer, organizers, or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the event. We value your attendance and your safety.  We expect all participants to follow these rules at dance venues.

Please do not offer unsolicited advice to fellow dancers either in class or on the social dance floor.   Please use your full range of senses on the dance floor to avoid accidental collisions and injuries. It is every dancer’s responsibility to be aware of their own and their partner’s movement and position, as well as the movement and position of the dancers surrounding them, in order to avoid all forms of dangerous contact.  Please be respectful to the event staff including event volunteers, even if you are experiencing a personal frustration. Without the goodwill of these individuals, a smoothly functioning event is impossible.   Finally, be aware of your own boundaries and physical needs. Do not neglect your health, do remember to sleep, do wash your hands frequently, and do remember to take your meds if applicable.

V. I affirm that at the start of the event, November 10, 2016, I will be at least 18 years of age or accompanied by legal guardian.

VI. I understand that failure to comply by these terms and conditions may result in instant removal from Holy City Blues Exchange without warning or refund.

I have read these Terms of Service in their entirety, understand them, and agree to comply with my consent.
